SA.VO.I.R.S. – Knowledge aimed at Responsible and Sustainable Innovation
The challenge
How to restore value to traditional crafts in the age of innovation? SA.VO.I.R.S. answered this question by combining tradition and the future: it guided students and recent graduates on an educational journey that intertwined local identities, digital technologies and sustainability. The heart of the project? Revitalizing ancient knowledge, making it attractive to new generations and an increasingly cross-border labor market.
The partnership
Three educational realities, rooted in the territories and open to Europe: the Liceo “Lorenzo Mossa” of Oristano (lead partner), the Campus Foundation of Lucca and the Lycée Provence Verte of Sainte-Maximin (France). An alliance between Sardinia, Tuscany and Provence to generate the future.
Difficulties overcome
In this project, too, the Covid-19 pandemic forced a change of course: no physical mobility, but a new way of meeting through digital hackathons. Mutual challenges, launched and embraced by the partners, involved students in co-creating ideas for revitalizing tourism related to ancient crafts.
The results of cooperation
The students worked in teams, supported by mentors and professionals, developing innovative proposals to enhance the territories. The most tangible result is a strategic manifesto: a document that brings together visions, ideas, solutions, and represents a bridge between school, business and the future.
What we learned
SA.VO.I.R.S. has shown us that tradition can become a lever of innovation. That bringing generations, territories and cultures into dialogue creates value. And that, even in uncertain times, cooperation is capable of generating energy, beauty and employment prospects.
