TRA_IN – Cross-border innovation in agribusiness.
The challenge
TRA_IN was created to address one of the ALCOTRA area’s most complex priorities: fostering the green and digital transition of agribusiness microenterprises in mountain and rural settings often marked by isolation, seasonality, low productivity and employment fragility.
Objective: to strengthen the competitiveness, innovation and inclusiveness of these supply chains from a cross-border perspective.
A complex and strategic design architecture
I was called as project designer for the project: within the proposing team, I was the only one with specific expertise in european planning. The project was designed in a systemic and integrated way, with in-depth work on all strategic and operational aspects, including:
- Defining the architecture of Work Packages: from territorial diagnosis to tailored training, from business matching to communication strategies.
- Design of cross-border activities with attention to their internal coherence, sustainability and concrete impact.
- Identification and activation of the partnership, both on the Italian and French sides, taking into account local specificities and possible synergies.
- Preparation of the complete budget, calibrated on allowable expenditure items, logical consistency and economic sustainability.
A job that required strategic vision, methodological rigor and in-depth economic-business skills, combined with the ability to work under very tight deadlines and with extreme precision.
Innovation and replicability
TRA_IN is distinguished by an advanced methodological framework: multi-criteria diagnosis, training on digital platforms, use of open badges, cross-sectoral business matching, forecasting tools and data visualization. All elements designed to build a replicable development model in other fragile territories, with a focus on young people, women and micro-enterprises.
What this project represents to me
TRA_IN is the perfect synthesis of technique and vision, of concreteness and ambition. It is proof of how european planning, when conducted with competence and passion, can shape intelligent answers to complex problems. And it is also proof of how important it is, now more than ever, to be able to transform an idea into a coherent system of actions, budgets, results and impact. This is the heart of my craft.
